Even work can be a vacation, when you love what you do. I joined another photographer friend of mine and we attended a photography retreat in Vermont hosted by Shuttergram portraits where we got the opportunity to photograph some beautiful models. While my studio has taller ceilings, white walls and large windows, this cabin was quite the contrary which allowed for some darker and moodier portraits. These are some of my favorite images that I took, and I even tried to match a darker moodier editing style to go with how they made me feel.
The walls in the room we shot were a deep red, the sheets were robins-egg blue and well the furniture was mis-matched. Normally not my dream bedroom, but this goes to show that the room in which you are photographed doesn't make the picture. The experience of the photographer, the posing of the subject and lighting is key.
I'd like to talk about bodysuits for a moment while we are looking at these gorgeous images. A bodysuit or 'teddy' which is a more sheer/lacy version of a bodysuit is something many women don't necessarily picture themselves wearing. I've heard many reasons, such as "it makes me feel to restricted" or "I will look like a stuffed sausage", etc. If you feel this way, I want to prove you WRONG. I think bodysuits look so sophisticated, stunning and downright sexy on everybody. When you are planning your wardrobe for your own boudoir session... why not consider giving it a shot?
Note #2 - outdoor boudoir. Did you know it was a thing? Because it is! You don't need to be standing in the middle of a crowded park, topless, with people all around you. There are hundreds of remote locations to shoot at where it is just YOU, the camera and a beautiful setting. A bed might not be your forte, but maybe the woods, a warehouse or a beach are? Let's make it happen!
