So you're snuggled up on your couch Friday evening with a hot cup of tea and popcorn while you catch-up on the latest episode of Scandal that you missed when it occurs to you that tomorrow is Halloween and you promised your baby sister you'd take her out trick-or-treating AND dress up too! "CRAP! I don't have time to go buy a costume, what do I do??? I've been so swamped with homework, I completely forgot!"
You swing open your closet door and the first thing you see is the red bow-tie they make you wear on Saturday nights when you are waiting tables at that fancy-schmancy restaurant. Oooh, this looks "costumy"! Suddenly, your favorite childhood character pops into your head. You remember loving her because she encouraged you to eat sugar in order to feel better! Mary Poppins! That's it! You quickly google her to see what her outfit entails, and realize you pretty much have everything you need. White blouse. Black leggings. Black pumps. Umbrella. The only thing missing is the hat with flowers. You remember that box of hats in the spare bedroom closet, find the perfect black hat and then rummage through the craft drawer in moms office to find several perfect fabric flowers that you are praying she wont miss.
A little hot glue, and voila! In 30 minutes you've pinned down your costume and you are pretty darn proud of yourself! Now let's get back to that episode of scandal shall we?
