"I absolutely adore working with Sasha and Chelsea. I have done a shoot with them before and I would love to do more. Chelsea is an amazing make-up artist and hair stylist. The make-up is always flawless and elegant, she is very talented! Working with Sasha is always so fun. She is super energetic and friendly, she can make anyone feel comfortable during a shoot. She has an incredible eye for great photography, she gives excellent directions. They are both such amazing people and phenomenal artists, I would recommend them to everyone for their shoots and events."
About the Shoot
I get over the moon excited when I get to bring one of my visions to life. I've been wanting to style and photography a Bohemian styled boudoir session for quite some time and I finally got the opportunity. I actually had some of the supplies leftover from a Boho styled senior session last year so I was able to recreate the teepee (but for this shoot, I used all white instead of different colors). I wanted it to be soft, sexy and timeless. I also purchased some wardrobe items to style the shoot from Old Navy, Forever 21 and Icing (By Claires)
The heatwave died down, so we were blessed with upper 70's for our shoot, so no sweat and a light breeze made for the perfect evening. Giuliana met with Chelsea first (of Beauty by Chelsea Dae) for her hair and make-up styling. Chelsea and I agreed on a look to work with the Boho theme and Chelsea pulled it off with flying colors. Go check out her site - she will be posting a you-tube tutorial on the look soon!
While Chelsea was performing her magic, I was setting up on a gorgeous private property in Woodbury, CT. Teepee, lots of blankets, flowers, lantern, and a warm golden sunlight. When Giuliana arrived on site, we were ready to go!
We started the shoot with soft, simple and sexy. Giuliana donned the floral wreath I made with a floral garland from Hobby Lobby. Her wardrobe includes a beautiful lace bralette and sheer cardigan, both from Forever 21.
Our next outfit we took over to the gorgeous man-made pool - blue lace bralette (also from Forever 21) and necklace from Francesca's. These poolside images were gorgeous, and although chilly at first, the water felt quite refreshing.
As if the shoot couldn't get any better, I learned that the property owners I was working with, also owned the airplane hanger up the road - so we took advantage of that and the beautiful sunlight. The floppy hat was my weekend find from Old Navy and the flirty flowy peasant top is another gorgeous find from Forever 21.
I seriously LOVE the airplane in the background of these. Love. Love. LOVE.
Before heading back to the pool for our shoot Finale, we did a few romantic shots with Giuliana, the white scarf and the old airplane living in the wildflowers.
We headed back to the pool before the sun went down to capture some artistic and moody images of Giuliana. She was an incredible trooper. The water was chilly, and especially with the wet dress matted to her skin. But, the images - to die for.
