I don't want to play favorites, but I think this was my favorite shoot - possibly because I am a color-lover, plus I love patterns, and pattern mixing, and golds, and warm tones... and EVERYTHING YOU SEE HERE.  Can you see where we pulled our inspiration from??  I couldn't wait to transform this gorgeous lady into a goddess inspired by Disney's Jasmine!  We were so thrilled when she brought some of her own accessories to add to our vision including the necklace that practically mirrors Jasmine's iconic necklace in the movie, and the gorgeous Middle Eastern scarves and jewelry.  As usual, Christen with Makeup by CG did a total bomb job with her hair and makeup transformation and we have to send props to Yandy for the gorgeous teddy that is literally PERFECT for a Jasmine inspired goddess.

Disney's Ariel Inspired Boudoir Session {2018}

One of my favorite Disney Princesses is Ariel (The Little Mermaid). We loved putting this look together, and decided pretty early on in the planning process that we did not want to include a 'fin' because it would feel to 'costumy'.  This gorgeous mama made a stunning Ariel, with her glorious fair skin and stunner red hair.  Christen set her hair so that it would stay put at the beach, and because we opted against a fin, we decided to incorporate the green into her eye makeup instead.  I think Christen nailed it! Her stunning purple teddy was purchased from Adore Me and it was exactly what we needed to tie the Ariel inspired look together!

Christen (Makeup by CG) and I decided our next transformation was going to come from inspiration from the iconic Aurora of Disney's Sleeping Beauty.  We wanted pink, and feminine - a bed covered in flowers and canopy.  Christen added shades of purples and pinks to her eyes and lips and finished her up with some big wavy curls.  I purchased the teddy from Target and that glorious necklace that makes a statement is from Francesca's  (a purchase I made a few years ago). She definitely had her beauty sleep!

Disney's Pocahontas Inspired Boudoir Session {2018}

I recall sitting around one day, maybe I was editing a boudoir session, when I thought... wouldn't it be cool if my clients wanted something a little more creative with their shoots?  Something different? Like something inspired by their favorite on-screen character?  It dawned on me that I wanted to curate a project that helped us transform every day women, moms, teachers, nurses, etc. into a sexy goddess inspired by looks from our favorite Disney Princesses! We got to work compiling our list of princesses, and were of course incredibly overzealous - we couldn't narrow down our list to less than 13!  We decided everything from the month we wanted to shoot each model, to location - and quickly realized that we wanted to shoot Pocahontas first as we were approaching the end of November - near Thanksgiving.  The leaves where almost all gone and we needed to get her shoot done quick.  We planned this in about a week - and I reached out to one of my favorite clients, Michelle of @ByQuinn fashion blog.  I knew she'd be a perfect model for us to kick-start this series.

Christen, the ever so talented HMUA, designed Michelle's outfit ...or lack thereof ;)  and I helped complete the look with a STUNNING necklace from Target and a gold foil press-on tattoo that I'd ordered off Amazon a few years back for a bohemian inspired senior session.  The necklace had gold and grey stones, so I had to do a little color change in PhotoShop to give it the signature turquoise look that Pocahontas wore in that iconic film.

Take a look at this awesome transformation below.  We used some simple hair extensions to give Michelle's hair some length, and we didn't do much more styling at that.  Pocahontas has long thick straight hair, so we didn't need to add any curl!  Christen added some gorgeous warm hue to Michelle's eyes and really accentuated them, plus - she completed the look with a slight tint of orange lipstick ... the BEST choice!

Michelle was incredibly awesome considering we were shooting outside during 30 degree weather!  The waterfalls at Devils Hopyard were a necessity for this shoot so we are thankful that Michelle was open to modeling for us there!

I made sure to add a warm feel to the images, you can see below on the 'left' before image how cold and gloomy it really was for this shoot!  Be sure to check out all of our other Disney Inspired princess shoots on the blog!

Meet my accountant, Kate Presto!  She owns KIS Accounting (KIS stands for Keep it Simple). Kate has a CPA license, Master’s degree in Accounting, and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  Her goal is to help take some of the weight off of small business owners when managing their businesses.  With all of the extra behind-the-scenes work entrepreneurs are doing (I would know because I own my own business too!) she makes the tax part of it so much easier! Kate's motto is simple.  You run your business.  She'll handle your books. When I first met Kate and asked her about her career as an accountant and if it was what she imagined doing when she was younger and she told me she loved what she does.  Kate said that accounting to her is like putting together a giant puzzle, and she loves puzzles. She also loves that her job is rewarding because she gets to have a direct impact on her clients' businesses!

Most of her clients are small business owners and so she truly gets to build professional relationships with each and every one of them.  Kate is genuinely curious about what her clients do in their careers and she is passionate in helping them reach their goals.

One of my favorite things about having her as my business accountant is that our quarterly meetings are casual yet professional all wrapped into one.  We meet either at a coffee shop or generously (since I have a teeny-tot at home) she'll even meet at my home to go over books.  We have coffee, talk business, get down to work and I can bring her any questions I may have.  I can't name another accountant that I've ever had such an outstanding personal and business relationship with.

Kate enjoys to spend her free time traveling (most recently to Australia!), spending time with friends, crafting, gardening, and snuggling her oh-so-cool bengal cat Pookie.
