Jessica chose to celebrate her 30th birthday by having a portrait session done. She is another beautiful participant in our 30 women over 30 portrait series. Jessica is a boy mom to a 9 and 6 year old, as well as 2 dogs. She went to school for fashion design in NYC and is currently working on her Masters Degree in Art Education!
Though she chuckled at the thought of having spare time, she said if she can manage to find any, she loves to indulge in the arts, watch classic movies or paint. She also loves to spend time with her children and to travel. Her favorite meal is a grilled New York strip steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus (delicious!)
Jessica said motherhood often is what leads to most of her insecurities, she is always worrying about her sons, if she is doing a good job and if they are happy. She thinks spending as much time as possible with them, traveling and making memories is the best way to combat that insecurity. It is so important to her to have enjoyable life experiences and to always look forward to new ones.
Jessica said she loved the teenage version of herself, she was so careless and free spirited and she wishes she could tell that version of herself to never lose that wild abandon. Of course we grow older and grow up, but Jessica tries her best to live by these words: ‘Do not fear growing old. It is a privilege denied to many.’
